There is just something so special about a baby’s six-month milestone, and sweet Lillian’s session was the perfect reminder of why I love this stage so much!
Lillian is truly the kind of baby who lights up the entire room. From the moment she arrived at the studio, she was all smiles – the happiest, most joyful baby girl. Those big, bright eyes and her happy personality made this session feel effortless and so fun to photograph. It’s sessions like this that leave me smiling the entire time behind the camera!
As I photographed her, I couldn’t help but think back to her newborn session. I even found myself going back through the archives afterward, comparing those tiny, sleepy newborn photos to the happy, smiley six-month-old. It’s incredible how much can change in just six months – from those cuddly newborn days to a baby full of personality and so much joy.
That’s exactly why I care so deeply about documenting first-year milestones. Your baby’s first year is filled with so many changes, and each stage deserves to be remembered. From their first days in your arms to those gummy smiles, chubby cheeks, and budding personalities, these moments pass more quickly than we ever expect.
When it comes to planning milestone sessions, I typically recommend one of two options for families:
Newborn, 4 months, 8 months, and 12 months or newborn, 6 months, and 12 months
Lillian’s six-month session was such a joy to capture, and it makes me even more excited for what’s to come. I already know her one-year session is going to be just as special – full of personality, smiles, and even more of that contagious happiness.
Watching little ones grow and getting to document each chapter along the way is truly one of the greatest honors of what I do. I can’t wait to see how much Lillian grows in these next six months and celebrate her very first birthday from behind the camera!
