Kankakee River State Park Family Photographer | The Haisma Family

The perfect night on the Kankakee River with this sweet family! I loved meeting up with the Haisma family for photos before their new little one arrives this fall. Allie is a fellow Kankakee County photographer, and it was such a treat when she reached out this spring to schedule late summer maternity photos. She wanted something unique for this special season, and I think we found the perfect fit!

We chose the Kankakee River State Park for their session, and it did not disappoint. The kids had space to run and play, we explored out by the water, and the whole evening felt laid-back and fun. It was exactly what this family wanted – photos that felt true to them, capturing both the excitement of expecting another baby and the joy of this chapter together.

This session is also a great reminder that family and maternity photos don’t always have to take place at a traditional park or field. Think outside the box! Sessions can happen in your own backyard, at your favorite ice cream shop, on the river where you fish with your kiddos, or any other spot that holds meaning for your family. These locations not only make your photos unique but also tell your story in a more personal way.
