Fall colors are in FULL SWING, and Kaitlin + Justin’s engagement session was one of my first glimpses at the fall foliage… Eeeek!

Kait, Justin, and I connected this past August, and I am so very glad we did! This couple is wonderful, quirky, and their personalities truly compliment one another. Kait is more outgoing and extroverted, while Justin has a quiet and shy side. I truly mean it when I say that their personalities truly are a match!

These two cuties met while working at the same accounting firm over two years ago. Kait was interested in going on a date with Justin, but it wasn’t until they matched on Tinder and planned their first date. After that first date, these two have spent nearly every day together since!

And I love their proposal story! After ring shopping together, Kait was excited at the idea of a proposal in the near future. While on a little trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Justin proposed to Kait at North Point Lighthouse. Justin later told Kait that he chose to propose to her at the lighthouse because “before we met, he felt like a ship with no direction in the middle of the ocean – until he saw the lighthouse leading him to the rest of his life.” I can’t even. ALL the heart eyes for these two!

On the day of Kait and Justin’s engagement session, I couldn’t help but feel insanely joyful to be photographing these two while also sharing with them that they were INCREDIBLY lucky to have a sunny, warm fall day with fall colors for their engagement session. This fall season’s weather has been challenging to say the least, but these two were so so luck for a gorgeous day. Love it! We started the session in downtown Springfield at the Old State Capitol then moved to their first home together for photos with their pups, and we finished the session at Lincoln Memorial Gardens at sunset. And of course, I found tall grass – surprise, surprise! Ha!
