Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year?!

The month of June started with a happy birthday FaceTime with our niece in Alaska before photographing a summer wedding day. Then we rolled into the first week of the month complete with meetings with brides, an engagement session, and maternity photos for my dear cousin (really sister!), Sara. And I can’t forget to mention that we, of course, followed through on our almost weekly dinner date with our friends Joe and Michaela for a Taco Wednesday instead of Tuesday. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes!

June 7th brought our FIFTH wedding anniversary complete with a sushi dinner date and night in the suburbs. On our anniversary, I remember Kyle and I looking at each other and sharing that while we can hardly believe we’ve been married for five years… Sometimes it feels like forever and sometimes it feels like our wedding day was last week!

The second weekend of the month brought a fairytale wedding day in Chicagoland and our first visit to the Chicago Botanic Garden followed by a Sunday of rest!

Then, my favorite day of the month where local creatives gather – TuesdaysTogether – flew by, I shared a mentoring session with one of my favorite gals, had a glass of wine with one of my brides as I delivered her wedding album, and I rounded out the week with a trip to Cantigny Park for another engagement session. The third weekend of the month brought a much needed trip to Springfield and dinner date with our friends Kate and Dustin before a Saturday wedding day. We always love our time spent with Kate and Dustin and just wish we all lived closer!

Father’s Day brought a Sunday well spent with dad… Working! Of course we chose the holiday where we’re supposed to spoil dad to open the pool. That’s just how it goes in our family!

By the third week of the month, I photographed my sister-in-law and brother-in-law’s maternity session as their family will soon have not one little man but two! Then, I shared a few FaceTime dates with my brides, hosted my June Happy Hour for Creatives, and spent time with our Kankakee County Creatives at our quarterly evening TuesdaysTogether meet-up. These creative pals of mine fill my cup up!

The fourth weekend of the month brought not one but two lovely wedding days followed by a Sunday OFF WORK. We totally earned that!

As we rounded out the month, we loved hosting yet another Taco Tuesday at our house, having a dinner date with my gal pal Marisa, and welcoming our friend Kate for a visit. And the week wasn’t complete without some fun branding photos and our fifth anniversary photo session before a weekend completely off work! You better bet we loved our first farmer’s market trip of the summer, pool time, and snuggles with our niece Sofia and nephew Cooper on our weekend off, too.

Here’s to the month of JULY and some hot summer weather, my favorite!
