My, oh my! I cannot believe that we are nearing the halfway mark of AUGUST! Isn’t that just craziness? But, I am thankful that I am catching up on my July weddings, so today I’m sharing Julie and Mike’s backyard Jacksonville, Illinois wedding.

Last summer, I met Julie and Mike, and little did I know that I would end up second shooting Mike’s daughter Katie’s wedding that following December. It’s amazing and crazy to me to see how these connections come to be! So, when Julie and Mike’s wedding day rolled around, I was thrilled to see many familiar faces from his daughter’s wedding. And, of course, I loved seeing sweet Katie and her hubby Ryan again! As a photographer, familiar faces always make you smile and feel comfort throughout wedding days.

There are several favorite moments that come to my mind when I think back on this wedding day… For starters, this wedding was full of family. I am a family person and family is extremely important to me, so this was very refreshing to be a part of throughout the day. Julie and Mike’s children, siblings, nieces, nephews, and in-laws were alongside them on this day. It was fun to see how they all interacted and their love and support for the newlyweds. Family is everything!

Next, I loved their outdoor, backyard ceremony. Julie and Mike found great comfort and joy in using their large backyard for their wedding ceremony, and it was truly beautiful… The sunny day and huge clouds in the sky made for lovely photos. And, of course, these are some of my favorite photos from throughout the day. The important moments combined with the beautiful weather made for a breathtaking (and warm!) backyard ceremony.

Finally, I was among those with tears in their eyes during Julie’s dance with her father. It was almost as though time stopped, and the hustle and bustle of the reception stopped to watch this dance. It was emotional, beautiful, and I know so meaningful to Julie, family, and friends.
