These two cuties met during the summer of 2012 at the Melvin Fair, soon after starting dating, and have been inseparable since! I loved meeting them a few weeks ago for their engagement session in Bourbonnais, IL.

I’ve known the Thompson family for quite some time, and I’ve photographed their family in the past. So, when Jessica got engaged she and her mom immediately reached out to me! What an honor! Soon enough, they booked engagement and wedding photography for their June 2017 wedding day.

This session was so dreamy, rustic, and relaxed. Jessica and Kurt love to laugh and joke with one another, but they have such tender hearts for one another and photographing intense moments of love between the two of them was incredibly beautiful.

I loved using one of my favorite Bourbonnais, IL locations with tall grasses… Perfectly fitting for the simple, rustic style Jessica and Kurt have! And guess what? You wouldn’t be able to tell from the photos, but Jessica and Kurt were troopers during this season – tromping through tall grasses and water (from lots of rain that week) to get to the perfect photo locations. I have to say that I am thankful they aren’t afraid to get their boots dirty, and the hazy, cloudy sky made for a beautiful backdrop in this wide open space.

You’ll see these two in a couple months for a second engagement session (hopefully) featuring snow and winter midwest scenes… Swoon!
