Ummmm, everyone has been saying it, but man, January was the longest year ever!

The start of 2020 was a good one for the Evans household – the month flew by while also feeling like forever. It was just jam-packed. Truthfully, we’re hoping for a little more of a “winter break” filled with rest in February and March.

We started the new year with a lazy day because I mean, who doesn’t want that on New Years Day? Then, we were jumping into the new year! Our first weekend of the new year brought some family time and celebrating our nephew turning TWO! So, so fun.

Then we were rolling into the week with bridal consults, sessions, and a girls’ day at the winery with oldest best gal pals. After the weekend wrapped, we were packing up to head to Vegas to visit our niece. A little over 5 days spent with that chick was good for our souls. We love our first niece dearly and were thankful for some very special time spent with her – from playing at the park to naps to dinner dates and a trip to the movies, too. Oh, and Kyle and I loved spending a little “us” time together on the trip. We carved out one day for just us, and it was just what we needed. We started the day with a hike and ended it exploring, eating, drinking, and people-watching on the strip… It was my very first Vegas experience!

After our trip, we were thankful to come home to the sweetest Georgie girl snuggles. Walking into a crazy busy week, we started preparing for our first wedding of 2020 along with a wedding show. I’m happy to report that the wedding was WONDERFUL! Seriously… Kind, amazing people make for the best (and most fun!) wedding days. And a little more icing on the cake? We loved our time at the West Loop Wedding Walk, too – can’t wait for next year!

The last week of January brought a fun dinner date (Kyle and I love hosting our friends in our home!), a visit from my best photog friend, and a birthday lunch with my grandma all between a few furniture updates and projects around the house. All in all, January was a good month… Though it just felt so dang long while also flying by. Sometimes, I just don’t get it, but we are thankful!
