Happy dancing! I am honored to share a look at this Iroquois County farm engagement session today!
Meet Kara and Dakota! I’ve known this couple for several years through my family, Shana + Weston. These two are kind, caring, and so in love with one another! It’s an honor to be their wedding photographer for their January 2020 wedding day.
These two met through a mutual friend at Dakota’s house and started dating over four years ago. Dakota told me he knew Kara was the one the night they met, and Kara knew several months into dating him. Over Labor Day weekend this year, these two made a trip to one of their favorite places, Carpenter Creek Winery. Little did Kara know – Dakota had been there a few days prior to making a plan and she was in for a surprise! They enjoyed a wine tasting and chose a bottle of wine to share outside on the patio. Dakota “went to the truck to get the puppy” but came back empty-handed. Then, he made a toast to a “long, happy life together” and got down on one knee. Then, their families arrived and celebrated with them!
As Kara and Dakota plan for their wedding day this winter, they’ve been checking things off their to-do list right and left. And engagement photos are no exception! We were thankful to schedule these photos pretty quickly and even more thankful for a gorgeous evening for photos!
We started the session at Shewami Country Club in Sheldon where Kara works part-time. I loved walking the golf course and finding pretty little scenery throughout the golf course with these two. It’s been years since I’ve had sessions at Shewami, so it was good to be back! Then, we drove to Dakota’s family land near Gilman for the second half of the session. Complete with photos with their pup, Jib, of course! This was just the best farm engagement session.
We were truly in awe of the perfect September night for this session, and Jib even loved the camera, too! So excited for their winter wedding day!
