Governor Small Memorial Park Family Photos | The Litko Family

I had the best time meeting the Litko family for the first time and taking their early fall photos! Their two sweet boys (along with their pup, Stella) made this session such a joy. I loved being able to share one of my favorite Kankakee County photo spots with them… Governor Small Memorial Park.

This location is truly a hidden gem! The mature trees, ivy, and the dreamy light that filters through the column garden create the most ethereal setting for photos. It’s such a favorite of mine. Back when we lived just a couple of blocks away, I used to walk the dogs here every day, so getting to come back and capture sessions in this space always feels special.

The Litko family made this session wonderful in every way. Their boys brought so much personality, and Stella added the sweetest touch to their photos. It was such a treat to watch their family interact in this gorgeous setting.

And here’s a little tip for families with young kids heading into a photo session – let go of perfection. I don’t expect your kiddos to sit still or smile perfectly the entire time (that’s not real life, after all!). Instead, embrace the giggles, the play, and even the silly moments. Those in-between memories are often the ones that turn into the most meaningful photos.

I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to photograph the Litko family and create these memories with them. What a fun way to start the fall season!
