Our month of February was full but oh so good to us!
We kicked off the month with a fun birthday celebration for my sister-in-law, and then jumped into the first week of February!
Wintertime always brings our household and marriage a little more rest than the warmer months, and we’re thankful for that. The second weekend of February brought our most favorite ski trip weekend with friends. We always love this time spent with our friends on the slopes, and hey, I think my skiing skills have actually improved. I didn’t hit the slopes (literally speaking, HA!) quite as much this year. Fun was had by all!
After that fun weekend, we were back to reality and the day-to-day grind. I led our monthly TuesdaysTogether gathering for our Kankakee County chapter. Our creative crew is just amazing. Plus, this winter I’ve been meeting many new couples that are planning their wedding days, and the month of February was no exception.
As we rolled into Valentine’s Day, Kyle and I enjoyed a quiet evening at home eating pizza and watching the new Lion King movie. It was perfect! Then, we spent the weekend with family and our small group from church.
By the middle of the month (which basically flew by!), I got to meet a couple more engaged couples, snuggle my niece, and we had a few dinner dates with my sister’s family. The weekend brought rest and no plans… Love those kinds of weekends! We enjoyed breakfast at our favorite cafe up the street, did a few projects around the house, decorated for spring, and baked an AMAZING new pie recipe together.
The last week of the month brought me the worst cold and sickness, so I stayed cooped up inside most of the week – trying not to share my germs with Kyle LOL! I was thankful for a quiet week where I could rest, recoup, and get back to health before another fun weekend spent with family on LEAP DAY.
The month of February was a good one – cheers to March and the start of spring!
