Love, love, loved this fall Cantigny Park engagement photo session!
Meet Kali and Trace! I connected with this couple through a few of my past Iroquois County wedding days with their mutual friends. In moments like this, I love that I grew up in a small town and area and love making connections with people just like these two!
Kali and Trace’s story goes back to high school. These two grew up a grade apart in school but never really got to know each other until Kali went to high school. During Kali’s freshman year, Trace asked her to homecoming and they have been together ever since! [You know I have a soft spot for high school sweethearts in my heart – Kyle asked me to homecoming freshman year, too, and we’ve been together ever since. I love it!] They’ve been together for seven years now and got engaged this past summer. Trace surprised Kali with a proposal at the Lighthouse Restaurant in northwestern Indiana at sunset. What a gorgeous scene and wonderful memory for these two and their loved ones to share!
Over the past few months, I’ve been getting to know these two as we planned their engagement session. I loved that they wanted to make the best of their engagement photo session and do something different… So, off to Cantigny Park in Wheaton! Kali searched through many of my sessions and picked out the location as a favorite – love it! She’s a planner at heart, and it makes my heart happy to get to know and love her as one of my brides!
On the day of their late October engagement session, it was cold. There’s no better way to say it! It was a wayyy colder day than we expected with a little wind and real feel temps around 37-38 degrees… But these two were troopers! I gave them hand warmers at the start of the session, and we moved between locations with them wrapped in blankets and you would never know they were chilly in these photos. I’m so thankful for couples like Kali and Trace that are trusting of me and ready to brave the elements for beautiful photos!
What a great session! Looking forward to their wedding day next summer!!
