Fall engagement sessions are in full swing! And I loved meeting Maggie and Alex for their photos at Cantigny Park!
Meet Maggie and Alex! I connected with these two last fall after Maggie found my work on Instagram and realized I had just photographed her friends’ wedding day. I’m forever grateful for these “small world” moments and thankful to be working with these two leading up to and on their wedding day!
These two met while Alex was visiting a mutual friend in Chicago and their love grew! Then last year, Alex surprised Maggie with a proposal! He asked her girlfriends to take her out for the day. Meanwhile, he decorated their back deck for the proposal. When Maggie returned home, their outdoor space was decorated with candles and string lights and Alex was waiting there with their two dogs and an engagement ring. I love this story so much!
Over the past months, Maggie and I have been getting to know each other as they’ve had to postpone their wedding day, and as we’ve planned their engagement photos! We’ve shared many emails, phone calls, and texts through all the planning, so it really didn’t feel like I was meeting these two for the first time in-person at their engagement session. If one thing is for sure, these two are resilient, in love, and their wedding day will be a joyous occasion next summer!
On the evening of their engagement session, we thankfully beat the rain and enjoyed a cloudy evening exploring Cantigny Park. If you’ve ever talked to me about Cantigny, then you know that I adore this location and see it as a hidden gem in Chicagoland! I was so excited to share the location with Maggie and Alex. Their wedding videographer, Mark, also joined us for the session. We all agreed that next summer will be here before we know it, and we’ll all be working together again soon!
I’m so thankful that Maggie and Alex were trusting of me throughout their engagement session! Cantigny was just starting to show off its fall charm, and I loved that, too! It was fun to walk around, chat, and share lots of laughs throughout their session.
