Hello on this beautiful day! I think it’s perfectly fitting that today I blog Emily and Billy’s wedding day because last year on this day I was sharing photos from their Libertyville, Illinois engagement session!

Late in 2014, Emily’s sister, Erin, reached out to me about photographing her sister’s wedding. I was so thrilled to hear from Erin, as she is a photographer herself and college friend of my sister! I know how she values photography and the work we do, so I was truly blown away to know that she would think of me when it came to her sister’s wedding!

After going through all the details and researching, Emily and her then fiancé, Billy, chose to book engagement and wedding photography with By Kara… I quickly knew that I would honored to work with these two, their families, and their friends!

Emily and Billy, where do I begin? These two are honestly and genuinely two of the sweetest and relaxed people I have ever had the privilege to work with. They are accommodating, welcoming with open arms, fun to be around offering lots of smiles and laughs, and they are madly, deeply in love. It doesn’t get much better than that! 

To top it all off, Emily and Billy are naturals in front of the camera. They are so comfortable together – in one another’s arms, interacting in the moment – that it is hard to take a photo that doesn’t represent their relationship. While editing their wedding day, I was brought back to all the emotions – the love, the happiness and sunshine, the tears shed during the ceremony, the crazy dance moves, and their joy to be in each other’s arms at the end of the day.

My husband Kyle second shot this wedding with me, and he already knew Emily and Billy from their engagement session, too! It was fun to be together again, photographing their love. I cannot tell you enough about the amazing venue, NOAH’S Event Venue in Lincolnshire, Illinois… This was my first time photographing a NOAH’s Event Venue, and it did not disappoint! It was beautiful, the staff was very kind and helpful, and I would love to photograph there again!

All in all, Emily and Billy’s wedding day was truly breathtaking. Their love filled the hearts of their family and friends, and the team of vendors they gathered made the day completely flawless! Congratulations again, Emily and Billy! XOXOX
