Friends, I am overjoyed to share Brittany and John’s elegant Pear Tree Estate wedding day today!

You likely remember this couple from their Nashville engagement session last fall (heart eyes!) or maybe even the How They Asked online feature of these two cuties. This couple is as kind as can be – yep, you totally know if you know them!. We are so thankful they are in our life!

From The Bride

We went to our senior prom together in 2010. He asked me to prom at a show choir competition by giving me a Build-A-Bear he made. After prom, we started what I told everyone would just be a summer fling before I went to U of I and he went to Purdue… And the rest is history. We shared 7 1/2 years of long-distance, so both of us are thankful to be in Nashville together now.

On Sunday, December 17, 2017 after we had both been to church, I was at home with my mom getting dinner ready. We had the Christmas cantata that day, which my dad sings in every year. And my aunt, uncle, and cousin always come over for chili/soup afterward. John called me and asked if I could come over in the midst of mom and I cooking. I told him it better be quick because we were busy and drove over to his place. Then, I walked in, left my coat on, asked what was up (no funny business)!

He was sitting at the island in the kitchen on his computer. I saw a Banana Republic box on the kitchen counter, and I asked him if he tried on the birthday present my mom had gotten him yet. He said, “Yes, but that’s not what that is. I bought your brothers something for Christmas and I was wondering if you could take a look at it for me.” He cued the Ed Sheeran + Beyonce duet, Perfect. I flung open the box and inside was a ring box opened with the ring. He got down on one knee and the rest is a blur (sparkly blur), but he did ask and I did say yes!

The Wedding Day

This wedding day brought the most perfect September day – a little breeze, 80-something degree temps, and sunshine. What more could we have asked for! When Kyle and I arrived at Pear Tree Estate where the bridal party was getting ready on the morning of Brittany and John’s wedding day, we were greeted with lots of hugs and smiles. This crew is a special one, and we love them so! As Brittany and John got ready for the day, we loved working alongside the videographers to capture the finishing touches and some really sweet letters between the couple. Then, it was time for the first look!

Brittany and John shared an intimate first look on the Pear Tree Estate grounds. It was so simple and sweet for this couple. Then, after a few bridal party photos, everyone traveled to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for the ceremony. It was very special for Brittany and John to share a religious wedding ceremony, and St. Patrick’s was the perfect match.

After the couple shared a beautiful ceremony with their friends and family surrounding them, it was time for photos of these newlyweds! We loved stopping in downtown Champaign for urban photos before heading back to the venue to wrap up photos. And friends, I’ve gotta say it again – this crew and friend group full of family, lifelong friends, college friends, AND dental school pals that Britt and John share is incredible. We were thankful for this couple and their people all day long!

As photos wrapped up and cocktail hour came to a close, Kyle and I loved spending time photographing all the details. Brittany and John’s vision for a simple, elegant, and timeless wedding came together seamlessly. Between the venue, the flowers, and greenery paired with gray suits, blush pink, and neutral tones… This wedding style was stunning! And one of my favorite details from the day? Brittany’s late grandmother’s wedding rings that she wore on her wedding day. Love, love, love.

At the end our time spent with Brittany, John, and their loved ones on this day, we felt an overwhelming sense of joy and happiness. These people are some of the best. This wedding day was a beautiful reminder of family and friends coming together to indulge in the happiness and love that a couple like Brittany and John feel for each other. The icing on the cake? Not one, not two, but THREE of our couples were at this wedding. If you know me, you know that this absolutely made me teary-eyed. We love our couples so much!
