This recent session with the Schmidgall family was so special! We captured photos to celebrate their youngest, Kollyns, reaching her four-month milestone, and it was the perfect way to document this sweet season for their family. Sessions like this make me even more grateful to be a Central Illinois family photographer!

Just three weeks after moving into their new home, we met for photos right there at their house – in front of their beautiful new home and in their backyard. It felt extra meaningful to take these photos in a place that already holds so much joy and excitement for their family as they settle in.

I always love when families choose to take their photos at home or even at a favorite nearby park. There’s something authentic and meaningful about being in a space that’s part of your everyday life – the front porch you walk out onto each morning, the backyard where your kids play, or the neighborhood park where you spend your weekends together. These settings tell your story in such a genuine way and make your photos even more special to look back on for years to come.

The Schmidgall family made the most of this milestone session, and I’m so thankful I could document this beautiful chapter in their new home.
