Just a week and a half ago, I had the pleasure to meet Cecelia and Cameron at their downtown Chicago apartment for a session. This winter session on such a glorious day had my creative juices flowing, and the people were incredible, too!
Cecelia reached out to me wanting a session to document this time in her life with Cameron and their little family (kitty + puppy). They are getting married in February, and until a few weeks ago, they had never realized that they didn’t have professional photographs together. I loved hearing about this from Cecelia first-hand because she (and Cameron) understands that it IS so important to document these times in your life. I like how she described her vision for the session to me… “C and C, the early years.” That was all I needed to understand her vision!
When we started brainstorming outfit ideas, Cecelia showed me a gorgeous navy, flowy skirt, and I knew we HAD TO have that for her session. You’re going to LOVE it, too!
We started the session at their apartment to include, of course, their kitty Cava and puppy Quinn. It was so fun to see the personality of their pets – truly members of their family – at the start of the session. The light was gorgeous, and the city views out the windows were the perfect backdrop.
Then, we visited the Chicago lakefront for skyline photos… The foggy + hazy skies through the skyline made for breathtaking photos! I love the wintery feel of these images, but they are so timeless – a memento of Cecelia and Cameron at this point in their life together.
Life has a way of flying by us, but these two truly reminded me to pause and document these parts of our story, too!
