Yesterday, Kyle and I hosted our first ever photography class, and it was a success!
The class focused on getting to know your camera, shooting in manual, and understanding lighting and composition. Oh, and yes, the class was FULL of rich conversation and Q & A – some of the best ways to learn in my opinion! My favorite part of the class? Teaching alongside my hubby!
We loved having a small group of attendees so that we could focus on teaching them one-on-one when looking for certain camera settings and how to navigate them. It was an intimate group setting, and I think the attendees enjoyed the environment, too. I did forget (I know, I know) to take a group photo with the attendees and a photo with Kyle, but we were so immersed in learning that I think that’s a good reason to forget! And of course, we loved the venue – Grapes & Hops in Kankakee – and the very perfect cupcakes from Two Whisks Bakery in Manteno. I loved how our little class could support other local businesses, too.
After packing up and returning home after yesterday’s class, I received a message from an attendee that said, “Thanks again for doing the class today… It was exactly what I needed!! Can’t wait to try out my new skills!” and another said, “I think I speak for all of us when I say thank you so much for pulling this together.” – That, my friends, is why we do what we do, and we are so thankful to have shared photography knowledge!
Keep your eye out for our next class 🙂
