Meet Chelsea and Tim! I’m just so excited to share this fall wedding day in Kankakee on the blog!
Last year, I connected with Chelsea and Tim as they started to plan their 2019 fall wedding day in Kankakee. From the start, these two have been so kind, fun, and easy-going – see their engagement session here. They’re an amazing couple! Plus, Chelsea is a photographer herself, so we are definitely extra connected in that way ?
From The Bride
Tim and I met on a dating app called Bumble in 2016. We swiped right to each other! The first time he told me he loved me, was the night the Cubs won the World Series! We love making each other laugh! We both share a passion for golf, eating healthy or not healthy, working out, and just having a good time. And we love to have fun whether that be hanging with family and friends, golfing, or just going out to dinner. Shortly into our relationship, we knew we would end up getting married. We always talked about it like “one day when we are married we will do this…”, etc. Over time we had become each other’s best friends, and I think that is so important.
On September 29, 2018, Tim got down on one knee and asked me to marry him on the 18th green of the golf course after we had finished playing. Of course, I said yes! Tim is so encouraging to me and all my dreams. He’s my biggest supporter. Tim is always there to help me and is such a hard worker. I appreciate everything he does for us. It’s not easy working 6 jobs between us, planning a wedding, and still having a social life, but we did it! We are a team, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Wedding Day
We’ve been waiting for this wedding day since meeting Chelsea and Tim last year, and it did not disappoint! We arrived at the getting ready location on the morning of the wedding to find the ladies wrapping up hair + makeup and the guys hanging out. After photographing the details (and gorgeous paper goods Chelsea designed!) and before we knew it, it was time to head to the church to get these two married!
Earlier this year, Chelsea’s church closed and a Catholic wedding ceremony was very important to this couple… So, when they found out that Maternity BVM was available, they booked the gorgeous church, and it all worked out perfectly for their wedding day! These two shared a sweet Catholic mass ceremony and bubble exit before photos and celebrating the afternoon and evening away.
And friends, our post-ceremony photo location did not disappoint. The cloudy day and tall grasses at Davis Creek were perfect – I mean perfect – for this wedding day. The location and cloudy light truly brought all of the boho eclectic elements together. Plus, we even beat the rain! Except for a few raindrops that tried to crash (but didn’t!) our rooftop sunset photos. ?
When it came to this wedding style, Chelsea and Tim wanted a casual vibe paired with boho + eclectic touches. They chose for their bridal party to have mismatched attire between different dress colors and styles and different tie colors for the guys. Then, they paired these vibes with gold + vintage vases and the most beautiful Michaela Mantarian flowers. I mean, if you know, you know – she’s the best! We loved this wedding day because Chelsea and Tim are the best, but we loved getting to work with some of our favorite floral, event decor, DJ vendors, too.
A few details throughout this day truly stuck out to me, too! Chelsea adorned her mom’s wedding dress bow to her bouquet and Tim’s wedding band was his great grandfather’s. These heirlooms as part of their day were truly touching and meaningful!
Now, let me tell you, this bridal party and family was a blast! Everyone was kind, welcoming, and oh so fun to spend the day with! Plus, Kyle and I LOVED getting to experience our first cousin’s dance at Chelsea and Tim’s reception. Again, if you know, you know. It was the best! And at the end of the day, Chelsea and Tim truly shared the most beautiful early fall wedding day in Kankakee. The style + vision for this wedding day paired with the lovely photo locations and even more gorgeous couple all came together perfectly. ?
