These mommy & me photos at Bird Haven Greenhouse have my heart!
A few months ago, one of my favorite clients Neiry reached out about planning a mommy and me photo session. She wanted to plan a session with her little boy for photos of just the two of them. I loved the idea from the start and especially loved that this was going to be her Mother’s Day gift from her husband. My heart! It’s more often than not that moms are the ones behind the camera or phone taking photos of their kiddos, so this idea brought me so much joy. To be able to give mom photos of her and her little one!
As we started brainstorming session ideas, I pitched a location I’ve been dreaming of shooting at for years – Bird Haven Greenhouse in Joliet! It’s a gorgeous greenhouse and conservatory location that I’ve truly been gushing over for years. With the unpredictable spring weather in Chicagoland, I don’t offer outdoor sessions until May. So, with the timing of this session falling in late April, it was PERFECT!
I loved meeting Neiry and Ezra at Bird Haven Greenhouse, exploring, and catching up. Every session that I have with this family gets better and better! Ezra loved this location and his excitement and personality really show through these photos.
After the session as I was at home editing photos, I sent Neiry a little sneak peek of photos. This is the message I received back – “STOP!!! STOPPPPPP THESE ARE SO SO CUTE I CAN’T. I’m so so excited thank you so much Kara these are seriously so special.” This is why I do what I do!! Photographing your family’s moments, memories, and milestones that you never want to forget.
What a beautiful gift for this mama. This session is one I won’t soon forget!
