Iroquois County Sunset Family Photos | The Balthazor Family

The Balthazor family’s latest sunset session was one for the books! We met at their beautiful property on the most gorgeous evening, and the sunset did not disappoint. The light, the location, and this sweet family all came together for such a memorable session.

And let me tell you, the boys were AMAZING! One of the most common questions I get before family sessions is: What if my kiddos don’t cooperate? It’s such a valid concern, and I want to reassure every parent reading this… It will all be okay! I never expect little ones to sit still and smile for the entire session. That’s just not realistic – kids will be kids, and that’s exactly what makes your family photos so special.

Yes, we’ll aim for a few traditional smiling-at-the-camera photos, but so much of my work is built around play, exploration, and genuine connection. We’ll laugh together, play games, run around, and create moments that feel like you. Parents, I always encourage you to open your hearts, let your kiddos have fun, and trust the process because the photos will speak for themselves.

I left this session with the Balthazors smiling ear to ear and so grateful for the chance to document this season in their family’s story.
