Yay, Shelby and Tim’s beautiful wedding day at Adler Planetarium in Chicago is here!
Since meeting these two and photographing their engagement session last year, I knew their wedding day would be nothing short of amazing. We loved celebrating Shelby and Tim’s love and documenting their wedding day with both wedding photography and videography. Their dream wedding at Adler Planetarium is one we won’t soon forget!
From The Couple
We met at work in 2014 and Snapchat brought us back together in 2016. Our love grew over the years as we have similar interests and love for family. Tim proposed on a boat on the Chicago River! Afterward, all of our closest friends and family surprised me and joined us on the boat to celebrate by cruising down the river.
Life with each other has been so fun! We love to brunch and most importantly, we love our dog Roo. She’s the center of our world.

Advice for Engaged Couples
Wedding planning is not easy. Just remember it’s one day that’s about YOU as a couple. Don’t plan around what you think others would want or like. Do what’s best for you. When it comes to relationship advice… It won’t be easy, but it’s worth it! Be selfless and remember you are a team in life.
The Wedding Day
Shelby and Tim’s wedding day started at Trump Tower in Chicago. The girls were welcoming and excited for the day ahead as they finished hair and makeup in the bridal suite. I loved spending time styling and photographing details, hanging the dress with the Chicago cityscape in the background, and photographing Shelby and her bridesmaids together.
Shelby is a girl after my own heart with her love of champagne! I am a champagne lover, too, so you can imagine that it was so fun to photograph Shelby and her bridesmaids giggling and enjoying champagne before getting into their dresses. Before we knew it, it was time for the girls to get dressed and head out for photos while our second shooter Sarah hung out with the guys.
For their wedding day, Shelby and Tim chose the Wrigley Building for their photo spot. If you know me, you know I love the Wrigley Building and the surrounding area. It’s classic, timeless, and makes for gorgeous wedding photos! I enjoyed spending time with the girls at the Wrigley Building before they traded places with the groomsmen.
After our time at the Wrigley Building wrapped up, we made our way to the Adler Planetarium where Shelby and Tim’s ceremony, reception, and celebration were taking place! This was our first wedding at Adler, and I have to say – the skyline view is unmatched.
That evening, Shelby and Tim shared a beautiful ceremony overlooking the Chicago skyline at Adler. As we documented the ceremony, we couldn’t help but be in awe of the gorgeous skyline, this couple, and their favorite people celebrating their love. Their ceremony photos are some of my very favorites from over the years!
After the ceremony, we made our way to the lakefront trail for some fun with the wedding party because Shelby had been dreaming of a skyline champagne pop with their wedding party! As the temperatures continued to drop (hello unpredictable spring weather in Chicago!) into the evening, we’re thankful that Shelby, Tim, and their wedding party were troopers despite the chilly evening along the skyline!
Once wedding party and family photos were finished, we spent a few minutes with the couple for their first photos together as a married couple! The skyline showed off as we took these photos, and it’s my hope that Shelby and Tim look back on those moments in photos for many years to come.
Then, it was time to celebrate! Throughout the evening, it was incredibly beautiful how Tim’s late father’s presence could be felt. Shelby and Tim truly hosted the most meaningful and fun celebration at the Adler Planetarium. From all the little details that they thought of and the champagne wall (obsessed!) to the classic and timeless vibe and love for Taylor Swift, we loved documenting this wedding and the celebration that followed!
