Working with a wedding photo video team on your wedding day - advice from Chicagoland wedding photographer Kara Evans Photographer. All the love in the air as busy wedding season is coming has me thinking about the importance of working with a wedding photo/video team. Think about your wedding day whether it was years ago, you’re engaged and planning, or you’re dreaming of your day… What is one thing you wish you could have had or one thing that you wish you could have?

It’s all too often that I talk with newly married couples, and they tell me that if they could change one part of their wedding day, they would have hired a professional videographer or photo/video team to document their day. It breaks my heart that couples often do not have a timeless documentation of their wedding days with photo and video.

Then on the other side, couples share with me that a professional wedding photo/video team was the best investment for their wedding day. You see, they had a wonderful experience with a photo/video team and value how their day was documented. They can relive their day whenever they want to for years and years to come.

As I write this, I’m not writing as a saleswoman or as someone that is trying to attract more business. I’m truly writing as someone who planned a wedding and someone who has an immeasurable passion for what she does… I’m also writing as someone that regrets not hiring a videographer (and beyond that, a photo/video team!) for her wedding day. That’s one of the biggest reasons that my husband Kyle and I teamed up to offer both photo AND video on wedding days. It’s our mission to provide beautiful photos and video. So that our couples don’t have wedding day regrets like we do and can enjoy both wedding photos and video for years to come! We are passionate about serving our couples in this way.

As a newlywed and wedding vendor, it brings me and Kyle great joy to be able to offer our couples wedding photography and videography on their wedding days. It’s such a benefit to our couples to work with a photo/video team vs. a separate photographer and videographer, too. The style is consistent across both photo and video AND we work well together – it doesn’t get better than that!

Here’s a testimony from one of our couples, Katelynn and Jamey, that invested in wedding photography and videography with Kara Evans Photographer…

“I discovered Kara about a year before I got engaged, and I immediately fell in love with her work! I knew once I was engaged that I had to have Kara as our wedding photographer! Not only is her work phenomenal, but she is approachable, organized, kind-hearted, and accommodating. When it came time to finding a videographer, I knew Kyle was just the guy! He knows how to capture a wedding day so beautifully and bring anyone to tears while watching one of his videos. It was also important to my husband and me to find a “one-stop-shop” when booking our photographer and videographer, so obviously, we hit the jackpot when we found Kara and Kyle! The two of them play off of each other so well and their work complements one another perfectly!

When our wedding plans changed multiple times because of the COVID-19 restrictions, Kara was so understanding and helped us work through a plan that would still capture our wedding day, even though it wasn’t what we originally planned. On the day of the wedding, Kara and Kyle both made us feel so comfortable and made the process feel so effortless. Our families were very pleased with their work and how they interacted with everyone, even the little ones! I truly cannot imagine having anyone better capture our wedding day than Kara and Kyle!”

When our couples book both wedding photo/video, we have their backs all throughout the planning process, wedding day, and beyond. We work as a team; a husband and wife team!

So while you’re planning your wedding day and choosing vendors, I think it’s important to ask yourself… On your first anniversary or your twentieth anniversary, how do you want to remember and relive your wedding day? My advice is to go for it and invest in a photo/video team, you won’t regret it!
