Chicagoland wedding photographer Kara Evans Photographer's recap of the 2020 wedding season throughout Chicagoland and Kankakee County.Holy cow, wedding season number NINE is officially a wrap!

And whew, what a wedding season it was! We started the year out with our first wedding of the year in January and planned to have a break until spring… What we didn’t plan to experience was a six-month break between weddings (January 25th – July 25th to be exact!) due to coronavirus and a ripple effect of heartbroken couples, countless reschedules, and many wedding planning pivots. So many pivots!

But you know what? Through it all, we photographed (and videoed!) fifteen uniquely incredible wedding days. We were present to document fifteen days of love and commitment. Fifteen first days of married life for our couples. We were honored to cheer on fifteen couples on their wedding days… That’s a huge win in my book!

And in addition to that, we were honored to love on our coronavirus couples that had to reschedule their 2020 weddings to 2021, and that’s a win in my book, too. We’re all in this together and if this year has taught me anything, it’s that we can do this and weddings will happen. We are truly blessed with a wonderful wedding family of couples – past and present!

This wedding season was different, that’s the truth, but it was also one of the most rewarding wedding seasons to see our couples lean on each other through it all. We truthfully loved (not the overall coronavirus scenario or root of it all by any means!) that this year gave us and our couples the opportunity to experience intimate wedding days. We’re all looking at wedding days through a different lens now, and I truly love that. It’s about the love our couples share and their commitment to life together not the party with 300 people.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again and again – my clients and community are the very best.

I’m forever thankful for each and every one of our past and present couples that have supported our business this year… It never goes unnoticed and when they say that someone does a happy dance every time you support a small business, that’s the honest truth! ⁣⁣

As we look ahead to our 2021 wedding season, our hearts are overwhelmed with joy to photograph 29 wedding days. Hey, we’re playing catch-up from this year and gonna rock next wedding season, too!

Our 2020 wedding season challenged us in countless ways, but it was oh so good. There aren’t enough words to truly describe what this wedding season and our couples mean to us… So it’s a good thing I blogged each and every wedding day as usual – wink, wink! Each and every one of these couples holds a very special place in our hearts – we love doing life with these people through our work and with our cameras in hand.

Cheers to a beautiful 2021 wedding season ahead with LOTS OF WEDDING DAYS!
