Happy dancing as Bethany and Jon’s beautiful Chicago engagement session hits the blog today!
I’ve known Bethany since we attended Illinois College together. After she got engaged earlier this year, she emailed me saying that she has been following my work since we were at IC together and loves every engagement session and wedding I post. What a truly kind compliment! I’m just so thankful that their engagement and upcoming wedding day brought sweet Bethany back into my life!
Bethany and Jon first met in December 2017. She was visiting a college friend in Chicago for the weekend. At a birthday celebration that weekend, enter Bethany’s friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother – Jon. Now, that’s a mouthful, right?! Soon enough, these two starting talking on and off throughout the night and ended up exchanging phone numbers. The next day, Jon texted Bethany and they realized that he only lived an hour away from where she was living in the Quad Cities at the time. A few weeks later, they shared a dinner date over Mexican food (amen!) and quickly realized they had found someone special in each other.
Fast forward to this past spring when Jon proposed. Before heading out to a nice dinner, Bethany came down the stairs into the living room and Jon got down on one knee. They celebrated their engagement in downtown Naperville that night!
Over the past months, I’ve loved getting to know this couple as we’ve been planning their Chicago engagement session. And we were SO thankful for a gorgeous day for photos! These two were planning a long weekend in the city and their engagement photos were kicking the weekend off. All of the stars definitely aligned for these two and this session!
We started the session downtown at the Kenzie Street Bridge and then walked to the riverwalk for more photos. It was a busy day, but I loved exploring the riverwalk yet again for an engagement session with these two. It just never gets old to me! Then, we traveled to North Avenue Beach to wrap the session at sunset. And man, it was a gorgeous night!
I loved my time spent with these two. They are kind, silly, and so in love with one another!
