This past spring, I connected with Sarah and Gene through one of my amazing couples, Colette + Alfonso (yay their wedding will be here so soon!), and I am so thankful for these people. It truly is one of the best compliments and heartwarming moments when one of my couples shares my work and name with others and they, in turn, become clients + friends, too. Makes me smile!
Sarah and Gene are the cutest couple! They are kind, sweet, and naturals in front of the camera. The story of Sarah and Gene goes back to high school where they only knew of each other, and then fast forwards 10 years to when they reconnected and started dating. On their three year dating anniversary, Sarah and Gene went on a staycation at Wonder Lake. Sarah is obsessed with sunsets (a girl after my heart!), so Gene rented a beautiful house where they would experience beautiful sunsets and have opportunities for breathtaking photos. Before heading out for their anniversary dinner after an early spring day at the lake, Gene poured two glasses of wine to toast their three year dating anniversary. The next thing Sarah knew, Gene was down on one knee asking her to marry him! Sarah was completely surprised, and then their families and closest friends walked through the door to celebrate with them, too. I love it!
For Sarah and Gene’s engagement session, they envisioned an outdoorsy fall session, and they got just that! I loved meeting them at Captain Daniel Wright Woods Forest Preserve in the north suburbs for their session. We timed the fall colors perfectly as they were just starting to peek through and leaves were starting to cover the ground. The morning of their session proved to be quite rainy, but I am so thankful we stuck out the tricky forecast and went ahead with the session that afternoon. It was a dream!
I loved my time spent with these two, and it has me even more excited for their wedding day next June!
