Friends, I am overjoyed to share this cabin engagement session on the blog!
Remember Hannah and Jake? Well, I am oh so thankful that these two connected me to Jake’s sister, Emma, and her fiancé, Ben. Coming from a person that’s a talker through and through… It’s hard for me to share just how much this warms my heart. It truly makes me love what I do even more!
Emma and Ben’s story goes back to high school. They went to Central High School in Champaign together and dated the summer after they graduated. Time went on, they lost contact, and it wasn’t until Christmastime in 2014 when Ben reached out to Emma to catch up while he was in town. They went out for drinks, and the next chapter in their love story began!
Earlier this year, Emma and Ben visited the Grand Canyon (ahhh bet you can guess where this story is going!) and Ben proposed. They were planning a longer hike on the day of the proposal, but when they woke up the weather was crazy – it was snowing, raining, and thundering all at the same time. So, they changed their plans slightly and took a shorter hike. Emma told me, “all of a sudden when I was looking at the beautiful view of the Grand Canyon, he comes up behind me and proposes.” I know the proposal was breathtaking beautiful because of these two people AND the scenery!
On the day of their engagement session, I was so very excited to be back to Emma’s family land for another engagement session (Hannah and Jake’s cabin engagement session took place here, too). You guys, I can’t quite describe the beauty of this private little location tucked away in the Champaign area. This land is a true gem that this family is lucky to have!
We loved exploring the oak grove, cabin, tall grasses, and pond throughout the family’s land for these photos… It’s safe to say I adore these photos and this couple!
Can’t wait for your wedding next year, Emma and Ben!
