I truly don’t know where the time goes… Because somehow, we just did two-year milestone photos with the Cowsert family!
If you’ve been around here for a while, you know this sweet family has been in front of my camera through so many milestones. From engagement and wedding photos to maternity and newborn sessions, it has been such a joy to document each chapter of their story. Watching families grow over the years is one of my very favorite parts of being a Kankakee family photographer, and the Cowserts are such a beautiful example of that.
This winter, we celebrated Sadie with a simple and sweet two-year milestone session at my natural light studio in downtown Kankakee. And oh my goodness… This girl is pure sunshine. Sadie is full of light, spunk, and so much joy. She has the happiest little grin, the cutest expressions, and that two-year-old confidence that surprises you. What a doll she is!
There’s something so special about two-year milestone sessions. The baby stage has passed, but they’re still little enough to scoop up in your arms. Their personalities are shining through in the best ways. They talk, they twirl, they giggle, and they keep us on our toes. It’s such a sweet in-between season.
Once kiddos are past those first couple of years filled with milestone sessions, many families transition to yearly family photos. I absolutely love that rhythm! There is so much beauty in committing to showing up each year, stepping in front of the camera, and preserving what life looks like right now. Those images become part of your family’s legacy.
It feels surreal to think that the tiny newborn I once photographed is now a joyful, spirited two-year-old running around my studio. These are the moments that remind me why I do what I do. Relationships that span years. Babies who grow into big kids. Parents who trust me again and again with their most meaningful memories.
To the Cowsert family, thank you for letting me walk alongside you through all these chapters. It is such an honor 🫶🏻
