Do you remember Brianna and Tom – a sweet bride and groom from this past June? Well, I am thankful for these two, our relationship, and their connections with other amazing couples!

This past summer, a month or so after Brianna and Tom’s wedding, I received an email from Samantha… As soon as we started talking back and forth, I immediately felt connected to her and hoped to be her wedding photographer. I remember telling her, and I always tell my couples that finding your wedding day vendors is like dating (maybe a silly analogy – but SO true!). This is a relationship that is going to begin and last past a couple’s wedding day. This relationship is so important and meaningful to me! I love these people with beautiful souls that I have the privilege toconnect with.

In talking with Samantha, I learned of her love story with Darin. These two have known each other for what seems like their whole lives… Life took them away from their hometown of Danville for periods of time and soon enough, they both moved back to the city and ran into each other at a New Year’s Eve party. The rest is history, and they have since joined together and are planning a 2017 wedding!

The day of their engagement session was a dreary one, but just in time for the start of the session the weather cleared. We started their session at the Danville Stadium as baseball is near and dear to their hearts – Darin played for many years (and felt nostalgic stepping back onto the field), and Sam is a huge baseball fan! Then, we ended the session at Kennekuk County Park offering a totally different feel for the session… So gorgeous! It had been a few years since my last visit there to photograph, and now I cannot wait to go back.

After this amazing session, Samantha and Darin graciously offered to take me to dinner and to meet their daughters. This was so humbling, and I loved meeting their entire family and their girls – their joy. It was wonderful to talk with these two more. I loved watching them interact with one another and the girls and listening to the story of their reconnection. These two – and their relationship – are walking proof of a “God thing” to me. The right people come in, and sometimes back into, your life just when they’re supposed to… All in God’s timing.

Goodness, the love between these two is amazing! I cannot wait for their October 2017 wedding day!
