Whew, we made it to the first days of spring and the end of March, but the next month is going to be a long one ahead!
I have to say… A LOT of things have changed since my last monthly recap blog at the start of March. The new month started out nicely. We had church volleyball, a couple of dinners with friends, a few days with our niece Sofia, and a weekend at home. Then as we rolled into the second weekend of March, things got crazy with COVID-19. I was so thankful to get in a styled shoot with fellow creatives before things started to lockdown. It was good for all of our souls!
Since things started shutting down in our state and community, I’ve spent lots of time encouraging my couples, planning summer sessions, and spring cleaning my business. I’m determined in this season to embrace rest while also getting things done! I’ve read 3.5 books in the last three weeks, and I’m loving that time so much.
And between all of that – Kyle is still going back and forth at the brewery while I’m working from home with Georgie. Oh yeah, Georgie and I have been working from home since 2015, so nothing is too different there… BUT I’ve learned that getting out of the house is good for my mental health as a creative entrepreneur that works from home all the time. I miss my people and am itching to photograph beautiful couples again!
On the homefront, we are using this time to get a few house projects done! We’ve organized closets and drawers, painted the kitchen cabinets, painted the front door PINK, and even done quite a bit of yard work together. I’m thankful for these little distractions in this season and truly embracing them!
And the cherry on top of this weird season? Kyle and I have been having fun on video calls + happy hours with friends/family and plugging into virtual game nights. Plus I’ve been loving video workouts with my bestie who lives 3 minutes away. We’ve been working out Monday-Friday together, and we’re loving it! This next month ahead will be challenging, but I know the health of myself, those that I love, and our community is the most important thing! And I can’t help but feel a little thankful that it’s starting to warm up outside, too.
Cheers to finding a little joy in your life even throughout this trying season!?
