Eeeek, I am beyond excited to share Shannon and Jimmy’s engagement photos on the blog!
I’ve known these two since I lived in Jacksonville… Shannon and I met working retail and became fast friends. She’s as sweet as can be and so very fun to be around! Over the years, I’ve photographed her senior photos, her brother’s senior photos, and now I get to be her engagement and wedding photographer. It’s an honor!
Shannon and Jimmy are high school sweethearts (LOVE!). They met in P.E. class playing pickleball during Shannon’s freshman and Jimmy’s junior year, and they’ve been together ever since! On Christmas Eve a little over two years ago in 2017, they were getting ready to leave for Christmas Eve service at church when Jimmy told Shannon she had a present to open. When she opened the gift, she found a pickleball paddle that said “will you marry me?” – of course, Shannon said yes!
Last spring, I loved reconnecting with Shannon as she started to plan her October 2019 wedding day. You can probably imagine my excitement when she sent me a message asking about wedding photography details! Over the past months, I have enjoyed keeping up with Shannon’s wedding plans + dress shopping updates and more. And oh yes, we’ve been looking forward to their winter engagement session before Shannon’s last semester of nursing school started!
On the day of their engagement session, we were so THANKFUL for winter sunshine! Despite the temperatures that were in the teens (and some wind!), their session was perfect… And I don’t think these two minded snuggling up a little closer either! We started the session in downtown Springfield before moving to one of my favorite locations, Lincoln Memorial Garden. It was so beautiful for their winter engagement photos and that sun – heart eyes!
Looking forward to photographing these two on their wedding day next!
