Iroquois County Family Photographer | The Shoufler Family

Give me a big family session on a summer evening, and I’m a happy photographer! The Shoufler family gathered on a hot and humid night at the end of July – all 14 of them! – and I’m so glad they made time for updated family photos.

This summer has been filled with extended family sessions, and I love that! There’s something so meaningful about documenting multiple generations and relationships all in one session. These are the kinds of sessions that will only grow more valuable with time.

When it comes to larger family groups like this, I’ve found that a little structure helps everything go smoothly. Especially if little ones are involved! We typically start with the full group while everyone is fresh, and then work our way through the various smaller groupings. For the Shoufler family, we kicked things off with the whole crew, followed by grandparents with their grandkids, just the grandparents, individual family units, and more.

By moving efficiently through the groupings, we’re able to capture both the classic shots and the sweet in-between moments… All while keeping the session relaxed and enjoyable. It’s my goal to make sure everyone walks away with images they love and memories of a fun experience together.
