This summer has been filled with sessions that mean so much to me – time with family and dear friends who feel like family. The kind of sessions that fill your cup all the way up… And this one with the Conley family was exactly that.
We took these photos just outside of Watseka at their family property, and it was the most beautiful summer night. Aunt Jane is my mom’s sister, truly my second mom! Growing up, us girls lived literally right next door to each other. It’s a family bond I’ll forever be grateful for, and sessions like this one are the sweetest reminder of those roots.
I looked back at my archives and realized the last time we did photos for the Conley-Scherf-Wessels crew was in 2020. At that time, there was only one grandkid… And now there are five! What an incredible gift to see this family grow and to document these milestones through the years.
These full family sessions are always some of my favorites. Gathering everyone together, chasing the sunset, and doing it all in a place that holds so much meaning! When that place is your own family land? It truly doesn’t get any better.
One of my favorite parts of this session came at the very end when we walked out to the pasture with the cattle. They may have thought I was a little crazy (ha!), but capturing that slice of their everyday farm life made my heart so happy. These are the moments I live for – real life, connection, legacy, and love.
Conley family, thank you for letting me document your crew. I adore you all!
