It’s the holiday season, yay! I love this time of the year. There’s just something about letting the joy and holiday spirit in the air fill your very own spirit and soul with happiness. I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve shared a Friday Five blog, so this time, I’m sharing one in holiday fashion!

Today, I’m sharing five things I’m loving right now… Holiday edition!

5. Holiday Pies

I don’t know about you, but I love pie. Like LOVE it a lot! Growing up, I spent countless hours baking with my grandma. I loved every single minute of it. From cakes to cookies to pies to everything in between, she taught me to bake, and I’m forever thankful for those baking lessons and our time together. To this day, her pie crust recipe is my very favorite. I use the recipe for every single pie I bake, and Kyle even rocks the pie-making process alongside me, too. With the holiday season all around, I’m reminded how much I love pie. I mean I baked four (yes, four!) pies just on Thanksgiving day this year. I’m talking pumpkin, coconut cream, chocolate pie, and cherry… Just for Thanksgiving day! I don’t think Christmastime will look much different than that either. Yum!

4. Fuzzy Socks

If you know me, you know I live in fuzzy socks throughout the cold months. What can I say, they’re my favorite! And can I let you in on a little secret? Fuzzy socks just might be the way to my heart!

3. Homemade Hot Cocoa

Years ago, one of my mom’s coworkers shared the most delicious homemade hot cocoa with our family around the holidays. Thankfully, they were willing to share the recipe with us, and it’s been a cold-weather staple for our family ever since. We love making big batches of the hot cocoa mix and enjoying it anytime throughout the cold-weather days. In this holiday season, I am in love with having a warm cup of hot cocoa while snuggled up on the couch. It’s the best!

2. Our Cozy Fireplace

We became homeowners this year! At the end of September, we closed on our first house but from the first moment we saw this home, I was in love with the whitewashed brick fireplace. It’s so charming and cozy! We’ve been enjoying our cozy fireplace during the last couple of months of cold weather. And I know we will continue to LOVE it throughout the upcoming (colder) winter months and years ahead, too!

1. The Christmas Tree

As I grow older, I’m finding that Christmas trees are a very touchy subject. You see, people are very divided (and passionate!) over their love for real or fake Christmas trees. I remember growing up and having to switch off years in our childhood home for real vs. fake Christmas trees because our family was divided, ha! Well, I’m going to reveal myself… Kyle and I are forever lovers of fresh-cut Christmas trees! And we always will be! Ever since our first married year, we’ve taken the time to find the perfect real Christmas tree to enjoy in our home throughout the holiday season. It’s our favorite!

So, there you have it! Five things I’m loving right now… Holiday edition! I hope you enjoy the holiday season just as much as I do.

Do you share your recipes for pie crust and cocoa? Just wondering……..
Once I get back to feeling myself and my house in order I have things I want to do. One of those things is learning how to make a pie!! I have never made one before!!
