This summer downtown Kankakee and Perry Farm engagement session is hitting the blog today!
Meet Janet and Michael! They found my work this past January after a friend of a friend, Katie at Two Whisks Bakery, recommended my work. Love, love that connection – especially when it all started with my favorite local bakery!
Janet and Michael’s story goes back to meeting on a dating app. They quickly became that couple – the “when you know, you know” couple – and haven’t looked back since. These two shared with me that they knew each other was the one pretty quickly. Over Christmas last year, Janet and Michael drove out east to visit family. They planned to take family photos with everyone together. Janet had a good idea that the proposal was about to happen when they all walked down to the beach together and Micahel took her hand. Before she knew it, Michael was down on one knee asking her to marry him. Of course, she said YES, and they celebrated with family afterward!
Over the past few months, I’ve been working with Janet to plan their engagement session and details for their August wedding day. She’s been so laid-back and easygoing to work with – she truly trusts my professional experience and guidance and I love her for that. It’s truly one of the most incredible feelings to be valued and trusted by our couples!
After a little rain reschedule, we were back on track for their summer engagement photos a couple of weeks ago. We met in downtown Kankakee to start the session before leaving Kankakee and heading to Perry Farm. We were thankful for a 70-degree evening and no summer humidity. We definitely hit the jackpot! And of course, I already warned them that we probably won’t be so lucky for their August wedding day, ha!
This session was so laid back and fun. Looking forward to Janet and Michael’s wedding later this summer!
