Over the past month, I’ll be honest, my focus has been almost solely on weddings… Consulting with new brides and grooms, scheduling and planning engagement sessions, working with my 2016 brides and grooms to plan for their wedding days, and so much more. But, a week and a half ago, I switched gears.
Just before the new year, my cousins welcomed a their second baby boy to their family. A few days into the new year, I was honored to meet Brayden, snuggle him, and photograph him for an in-home lifestyle newborn photography session.
Brayden was my first newborn session in several months, but I love how laid back and relaxed in-home sessions can be. The location allows the baby’s parents to be relaxed and comfortable, and the images will truly reflect a lifestyle feel. Everyone can feel at ease to truly enjoy the session and enjoy the experience.
At in-home newborn photography sessions, I always look for the most natural window light, and I had warm, beautiful light to work with for Brayden’s session. The natural light gives the images a lovely, simple, and natural feel. The light is flattering and soft.
At the start of Brayden’s session, he was not happy to have his photo taken, but once he was warmed up and relaxed, he was perfect for the entire session!
Throughout Brayden’s session, I had an “assistant”. His older brother, Ty, helped me me move and setup props, cuddle Brayden, and he even gave me lots of laughs, too! I loved photographing Brayden while being entertained by Ty. It’s crazy to see how much he has and is growing!
After Brayden’s session, I have found a new joy in lifestyle baby sessions. The relaxed nature of the session was fitting to my personality, and I enjoyed creating images for someone’s home in their very home. It was a welcoming and joyful experience.
Enjoy my favorite photos from Brayden’s newborn session!
