Hey friends! Happy Monday and month of May to you! At the start of this new month, I’m excited to share our month of April recap focused on the happenings in our life and business… Here we go!

We started the month of April with an evening of church volleyball. I play on a team with my husband, brother-in-law, and friend on Monday nights in the fall, winter, and early spring, and it’s just so fun. We aren’t super competitive in the league, but I love the fellowship and chance to hang out with some of my favorite people each week!

Then, the week brought one-on-one mentoring with a local creative, a planning meeting for a styled shoot to take place later in the month, and a trip to my alma mater, Illinois College, for marketing photography. After wrapping up the shoot at IC, I was happy to travel home and spend the weekend with family as we celebrated my sister’s birthday.

The first full week of April was full! I had the joy to mentor THREE clients, lead our local TuesdaysTogether group in a conversation about SEO and blogging, snuggle my niece for an evening, and enjoy taco Tuesday with our dear friends in between.

The second weekend of the month brought a visit to my brother-in-law (Kyle’s brother) and sister-in-law’s house to help them move. We loved spending time with them and their little guy Cooper. What we didn’t love about that weekend was the surprise APRIL SNOWSTORM… Why?!

As we moved into the middle of the month, I spent more time working on business projects while getting excited to plan our spring + summer garden with Kyle. The middle of the month also brought a visit to one of the most stunning venues, Room 1520, with one of my couples. And finally, we rounded out Easter weekend with Good Friday service before a Saturday wedding and Easter Sunday lunch AND dinner with family. Complete with my famous new brownies for dessert (ask me about them, and I’ll share)!

While the month was coming to an end, I hosted my third monthly happy hour for creatives (send me a message if you want in!), and we brought the most amazing styled shoot to life. Finally, the month ended with a trip to St. Louis to celebrate my best friend Kylie before her wedding in mid-May. Even though I’m not a Cardinals fan, we had a wonderful weekend away!

April was a good month as we slowly transition into the busiest season of the year – wedding season. Cheers to this month of April recap and the adventures to come this month!
