Sooo have you all seen my new logo? I launched it in early December and I am absolutely, positively IN LOVE with it. I worked with Angela from Red Meadow Design Co. (YES, go, check it out!). She was phenomenal and a breeze to work with. 

I’d been looking to change my logo to something more timeless, classic, elegant. The new logo is all of that + more!! I mean look how it flows across the top of my site 🙂

Looking back on the new logo process, I think that I was having attachment issues with the old logo (you can see my first logo below), since it was my FIRST logo for this business. I worked to design the original By Kara logo (oh my goodness I was swimming in papers with design ideas), but as the business grows and I continue pursuing this adventure, I started to feel like I was being pulled toward something that would fit my business better. Something that you could look at and know where it belonged… Something that was me… My unique and creative style… A symbol for my clients… Something that represented my work as a whole… And that is what the new logo is to me.

With all of this, I’m realizing that as a small business owner, there have already been a lot of firsts and there are many more firsts I will experience in the coming days. So, as I was guided to this decision, I can accept this as just another first (now, now… we can count it as a second, too!). This first though, is a first for my business to turn in the direction of a becoming a brand: By Kara.

Branding is challenging, yet fulfilling, and I can be so very creative with it – I LOVE that. So, stay tuned for what the By Kara brand has in the works! Until next time…
