Goodness, I’m still ooh-ing and aah-ing over Chloe and Kyle’s wedding day…

I met these two while we were students at Illinois College, so it was one of the highest compliments when they reached out to me after getting engaged as they began the wedding planning process. Before we knew it, we were working together to plan the photography details of their wedding day. I am so thankful for these two!

Chloe and Kyle’s story goes back to an elevator at Illinois College orientation in 2010. They were packed into the elevator with their families, and as they started classes that year, they became friends. These two remained friends throughout freshman and sophomore year of college, but it wasn’t until their junior year that something more sparked. Chloe and Kyle officially started dating at the start of the new year in 2013.

Fast forward to 2016… Chloe and Kyle were on vacation in Mexico and Kyle proposed! Kyle was nervous to travel with the ring, but he kept it a secret and surprised Chloe making the trip even more memorable. Over the past couple years these two have been planning the wedding and completing physical therapy doctorate (Kyle) and MBA (Chloe) programs. And they do it all so well with kindness and grace!

Ever since these two booked wedding photography with me over a year and a half ago, I have been looking forward to their wedding day. And from the start, I have LOVED their wedding style with navy blue, sparkly gold, and raspberry wine accents. Ummm, wait until you see the breathtaking florals + floral ties all the guys sported. I could not love these details more than I already do!

On the morning of their wedding, it was a little dreary in Springfield with some rain lingering around, but we were hopeful for a beautiful afternoon + evening. I enjoyed arriving at the Crowne Plaza while the hustle and bustle of the getting ready process was in full swing. Chloe’s bridal details were so fun to photograph outside at this location, too! Before we knew it, it was time for Chloe to get dressed and travel to the church.

Keeping these two separate for a traditional ceremony reveal, it was such a simple and beautiful scene to photograph Chloe + her bridesmaids and Kyle + his groomsmen outside Westminster Presbyterian Church in Springfield. The church is lovely, and we loved showcasing it in their wedding photos.

Chloe and Kyle shared a heartfelt ceremony in the historical church, and then it was time to greet guests, take photos, and CELEBRATE! We opted to stay on the grounds of Westminster Presbyterian Church for bridal party + bride and groom photos on this wedding day, and I am so glad we did. And we were so thankful for a break in the rain, too! The navy and gold details along with the beautiful florals were perfect in this setting. Plus, our bride and groom were as beautiful as can be! All of the little details truly do fall into place.

As the afternoon carried on into the evening, it was a joy to document Chloe and Kyle celebrating with those that they love dearly in their life. If I could only remember one thing about this wedding day for the days to come, it would be that Chloe and Kyle deeply love and support one another all because of the example of love, support, and encouragement they have received from those in their life. What a joy!

Chloe + Kyle… Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love you both as clients and friends, and it was an absolute honor to photograph your first day of marriage. Your wedding day was fabulous, and better yet, you two will have so many more wonderful days together as the years go by!
