Engagement sessions are starting in full swing again as the weather hopefully turns warmer and STAYS warmer with the springtime season approaching.
Meet Stephanie and Harith! I connected with these two through my favorite ladies at Elite Bridal in Champaign. These two are kind, down to earth, and fun! Their story goes back to their freshman year of college where she met Harith in a dorm room playing board games. Stephanie told me that Harith was loud and bright and she was fascinated by him. They quickly became friends, clicked, and starting dating. The rest is history!
Last spring around Stephanie’s birthday, Harith cooked a nice dinner, lit a candle, and they enjoyed dinner and conversation. After dinner, Harith took Stephanie’s grandmother’s engagement ring out of his backpack and said, “I love you so much, more than I thought possible. So will you make me the happiest person alive and marry me?” Of course, Stephanie said yes! It was the perfect moment for these two to share. Now, Harith is in Florida working on his PhD while Stephanie wraps up her last semester of undergrad in Illinois. After their wedding this summer, they will call Florida home together.
On the day of their engagement session, we were hoping that the weather would feel a little more like spring, but after a snowy weekend and sub zero wind chills there was lots of snow on the ground throughout Champaign and the University of Illinois campus! So, this early March engagement session was full of winter scenes! And hey, it even tried to snow a bit on us during the session, too.
I’m so thankful that Stephanie and Harith were excited for the session and willing to brave the cold + snow! We started the session in downtown Champaign for some urban textures and scenes before moving to the University of Illinois campus for their second outfit. I loved making the most of the season and incorporating winter elements into their session.
Stephanie and Harith have such chemistry and a playful vibe, so they made my job easy! These two were super comfortable in front of the camera, and I loved it. Looking forward to their wedding this June!
