This season of the year is very full when it comes to the lives of newly engaged couples, their families, and wedding vendors… It’s a time of meeting, planning, and getting to know one another! As a wedding vendor myself, I think it is so important to establish relationships with potential clients. I truly believe this… I’m in the business of building relationships, not just taking pretty pictures! So, when it comes to prospective clients meeting their potential wedding vendors, I have a little advice!
First, I think it’s so important to ASK QUESTIONS! Whether you’re meeting in person over coffee or via a phone or FaceTime consult, you owe it to yourself – and your investment in your wedding day – to ask questions! Believe me, you’ll be so happy you did, and vendors love answering your questions to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
Another piece of advice I can offer is that you should get to know your vendors on a level outside of their work. Find out their “why” and connect with them in this way. By the same token, share your story with them. I promise that connecting on this deeper level will make your wedding experience even better.
Lastly, I absolutely recommend meeting with vendors that share your style. Your tastes, preferences, and wedding style is unique, so it’s important to make sure that you see yourself as a great fit with your vendors! Discuss your overall vision + style to see if your vendors align and play a part in making this come to life. After all, this client-vendor relationship will grow and develop over time throughout planning, your wedding day, and beyond!
