If you have been around here for a while, you probably know that the Koch family has a very special place in my heart!
I have had these beautiful people in front of my camera more times than I can count since 2020. It has truly been one of the sweetest things to watch their family grow over the years. I photographed them when they were engaged, then their wedding day, anniversaries, milestones, babies, and all of the little moments in between. Getting to document their family through so many seasons is exactly why I love what I do.
This summer, we were celebrating sweet Kambry’s eight-month milestone! When Holly and I started brainstorming this session back in the spring after her four-month milestone session, we knew we wanted to do something different. We dreamed up a super girly backyard session for the girls, and this session absolutely did not disappoint. We embraced all the pink, the gorgeous summer sunset, and the beautiful backyard that gave us the perfect setting for this session.
I loved that we were able to make this milestone session about the whole sisterhood, too. We photographed all three girls together and captured individual portraits of each girl. And of course, spent plenty of time focused on baby Kambry and her eight-month milestone. There is something so sweet about photographing siblings together as they grow. Especially when you know these images will become part of their family’s story for years to come!
And can we talk about that sunset?! Their backyard was gorgeous… And the combination of the pink details, summer greenery, and warm evening light made these photos feel like a little time capsule of summertime. I love that we took a milestone session and gave it a totally new twist. It doesn’t always have to look like the traditional milestone photos you have seen before. Sometimes it can be playful, colorful, outdoors, and centered around the people who make your little one’s world so special.
Eight months is such a fun age, and I loved getting to document Kambry. Her expressions, her personality, her sisters loving on her, and all of those little details that will change before we know it. These are the kinds of photos that make me so grateful for the families who continue to invite me back into their lives year after year.
Koch family, thank you for letting me continue to tell your story. It has been such a gift to photograph so many chapters of your family. I can’t wait to see what the next one brings!
