Watching the Cowsert family grow over the years has been such a meaningful part of my journey as a photographer. This family holds an especially dear place in my heart!
Our story together began many years ago through both friendship and photos. I have had the honor of photographing their engagement, their wedding day, and so many beautiful milestones as their family has continued to grow. Getting to walk alongside families in this way and document the chapters that come after “I do” will truly never stop being one of my favorite parts of what I do.
This backyard session with the Cowserts was one of my absolute favorites, especially with this crew. We started the evening playing on the swing set and simply having fun together before wandering over to the apple trees to pick apples. There was no need for anything overly complicated or perfectly posed. Instead, we spent the evening playing, letting this sweet family be together, and soaking in all of those little moments that make childhood and family life so special.
These photos feel like they bottled up summertime in the very best way. The warm air, the gorgeous sunset, childhood play, apple picking, and the feeling of a slow summer evening spent at home all came together so beautifully. I absolutely adore every bit of what we created together, and I think that is exactly what makes a lifestyle family session so special. Photos do not always have to be perfectly posed to be meaningful. Sometimes the most beautiful memories are found when you are simply in your element, playing in your own backyard and enjoying time with the people you love most.
The Cowserts are a family I adore so dearly, and I am so excited that their family is growing once again! They will be welcoming another little one this fall. I cannot wait to see their family step into this next beautiful chapter together.
