Springtime is in full swing, and I am LOVING the colors, warmer air, and glowing sunsets!

Almost two weeks ago, I photographed my sister-in-law’s maternity session in Chicago! We’ve been planning the session for months, so I’m thrilled that we finally had the session. You probably remember Deidre + Howard from their engagement, wedding, and family photos over the past few years… Now, baby will make them a family of 4 including their pup Whiskey!

I’ve enjoyed spending time with Deidre + helping her prep parts of the baby’s nursery over the past few months, and my husband Kyle (her baby brother) even built a toy box for their new addition, too! Best of all… Deidre and Howard are waiting for the biggest surprise of their life in not finding out the gender of Baby W. How amazing will the moment be when they welcome their son or daughter into the world with this great surprise!

The maternity session started at their downtown Chicago apartment for lifestyle photos with Whiskey, and then we traveled to the lake for the second half of their session. The trees were in full bloom, colors were fabulous, and the sunset was out of this world! And, we even ended the session with a handful of water photos in Deidre’s maternity gown. She said it herself… Those 75 seconds in the water were SO worth the incredibly gorgeous photos!

Can’t wait to meet Baby W in (give or take) 3 weeks!
