I have to tell you that I am SO EXCITED for Justine and Kurt’s wedding day next October… Love these two!

Kyle and I first met Justine and Kurt during our days at Illinois College, and it’s so fun how we have all reconnected around their upcoming wedding day – I just love this and feel so honored! Earlier this year, Justine reached out to me regarding engagement + wedding photography, and I have loved getting to know her even more as a bride and friend!

These two met in 2012 when Justine started as a freshman at Illinois College. They met at a first year student activity that Justine was attending and Kurt was working at with his football teammates. After the event was over, Kurt started talking to Justine, and they told me the rest is history!

When Kurt asked Justine to be his girlfriend years ago, he wrote a poem and had “Ho Hey” by the Lumineers playing in the background, so it was incredibly meaningful when he proposed with a poem AND had their song playing. The proposal took place in the backyard of their new home at their housewarming party… Love, love, love!

I cannot tell you enough amazing things about these two! They are kind, generous, and so full of love for one another and the people in their lives. And while the weather threatened their first engagement session, we made the best out of the day and even connected with a local venue (huge shout-out to Rachel at Reality on Monroe in Bloomington – such an AMAZING space!) for indoor photos on the dreary day. These are some of my very FAVORITES from my time with them! To finish up their engagement session experience, we met up again for sunset photos in Bloomington-Normal, and of course, the puppies were in these photos. You know I have a soft spot for puppies, so I absolutely loved photographing these two with their fur babies… HEART eyes!

So so excited to photograph these two on their wedding day!
