Kara Evans Photographer's advice for sending save the dates before your wedding.I’m a snail mail kinda lady, so of course I love that sending save the dates has become a part of the wedding process!

Over the past few years, save the dates have become extremely popular! I love that these little pieces of mail send a little extra happy + excitement for couples’ upcoming nuptials. Yep, I’m all about adding to the FUN!

So, when should you send out save the dates?

I’ve been told that couples should send save the dates 6-8 months out from their wedding day, and that is what I recommend to my couples, too! It’s also important to think about the timing of your engagement session (in terms of season/preference) to work with preparing your save the dates. It’s also 100% okay to have your engagement photos taken in plenty of time (say one year or MORE) before you even need to start thinking about sending save the dates. It’s all in what you envision for this part of your wedding planning process!

Love, love, love save the dates!
